A Call for Participation from the Fit 4 Democracy Project
Welcome to our new project!
What brings people together? Sometimes the small, everyday things hold a special kind of power that we often overlook.
That’s what we discovered through our project “Bread Connects – Give a Sign of Friendship.” For those who aren’t familiar with it: we started from the idea that bread is far more than just a staple food – it stands as a quiet yet strong and meaningful symbol of community and through this project we were able to show in many ways how community can be experienced across borders – you can learn more about it here.
We now want to build on this positive experience as part of our current project “Fit 4 Democracy” and launch a new participatory action.
“I stand up for Europe and democracy” is a simple yet powerful photo campaign through which we want to show that we are many – united as a community standing up for the values of a united, diverse, and peaceful Europe.
You can find the flyer and terms of consent below!
Everyone who shares this idea is invited to print out this flyer that we prepared, take a photo of themselves holding it – and send it to us.
- Who can join?
- Anyone who identifies with the idea of a democratic, inclusive and peaceful Europe – regardless of nationality, age or background.
- How? It’s simple.
- Print our Flyer “Stand up for Europe and democracy”
- Take a picture of yourself holding the flyer
- Send the picture and the signed consent formular to us at: democracy@ileu.net
Together we will collect as many photos as possible that will become part of a visual mosaic – symbol of democratic spirit, solidarity, and shared European values. The results will be displayed online on our websites and on Social Media as well as presented at events of our ongoing Fit 4 Democracy project.

To participate in the campaign, we kindly ask you to fill out and sign the consent form attached hereby. This form gives us permission to use your photo(s) and to share them on our social media platforms and project websites.
