In this two-part online workshop, filmmaker and media trainer David Fichtner introduced participants from across the Danube region and Europe to the essentials of creating impactful short videos — even with simple tools like a smartphone.
In the sessions, David demonstrated:
- the core principles of visual storytelling, including how to capture attention, create emotional impact, and structure a clear narrative
- how raw clips become a story, using interviews, B-roll and voiceover to build coherence and flow
- practical editing techniques with CapCut, such as cutting, transitions, pacing, audio cleanup, adding text and graphics, and exporting videos correctly
- how AI can support creativity, from brainstorming and structuring ideas to translation, enhancement and automated editing

Participants not only received technical guidance, but also learned what truly matters in video creation: clarity, intention, and the ability to communicate meaning through images.
